Exterior Stain That Meets Your Needs

Village Paint and Benjamin Moore offer an extensive line of exterior wood stain colors, all formulated to protect and beautify your wood or composite deck, fences, siding, and outdoor furniture. ARBORCOAT® stains are available in many colors as well as five opacities, from transparent to solid.

Translucent stains preserve the original wood finish while adding a protective coating
Transparent stains add a tint of color while still showing the beauty and grain of the wood
Semi-transparent stains add a bit more color while still showcasing the wood grain
Semi-solid stains provide many more color options, but you can still see the grain or texture of the wood
Solid stains mask the grain of the wood but allow the texture to show through

Add the Right Finish

ARBORCOAT® also comes in several finishes: matte, ultra flat, flat, and low luster. If you are looking for no sheen, matte will be your best option. However, ultra flat, flat, and low luster incorporate a bit more sheen at each level. No matter the finish you choose, they are easy to clean and help hide imperfections in the wood.

Prep Products for Staining

Benjamin Moore offers prep products for deck stain, fence stain, and siding to properly prepare the wood surfaces for any job.

Benjamin Moore REMOVE

Removes existing latex or oil stains with a fast-acting and concentrated formula.

Benjamin Moore RESTORE

Reconditions old, severely weathered wood. The bleach-free formula is gentle on wood and the environment. RESTORE does not remove old finishes, however, so you need to use REMOVE first.

Benjamin Moore CLEAN

Removes moderate to severe mold and mildew using a concentrated and easy-to-use formula. Perfect for prepping any paint or stain project.

Benjamin Moore BRIGHTEN

Removes tannin and rust stains and breaks the “mill glaze” on new wood. It also counteracts the darkening effect caused by the RESTORE and REMOVE products on tannin-bearing woods such as oak and walnut.
